Clay Sculpture Reflection

In Room 14 we have been focusing on this terms focus creative explorers. so we got an ice-cream container with our name on it. we got a lump of clay inside of it. The name of my clay sculpture is called the roaring lion. Te message that I want to give the viewer is that lions always and watch out they might eat you!!! So be careful. what I have I have enjoyed working with the clay so far is making the pinch pots and starting to make our clay sculptures. The trickiest part of working with clay is putting everything together and wedging the clay.

Collaboration

Our big idea for this term was collaboration. My favourite collaboration activity that we did this term was the straws and tape one. Mrs Gunn gave us half a pack of straws and two rolls of cellotape and two pairs of scissors. Then we had to work together as a team and try and make something out of the straw and tape. It was really hard but  easy when we worked as a team. I enjoyed this activity the most because we worked together as a team most of the time but we had a few arguments during the activity that we were doing. I think the police officer was the best role because she made sure that the group stayed on task and got everything that we needed and we didn't argue at all times. The most difficult role that I thought would of been the CIA Agent because all he did was come back and told us that another was doing the same idea as us.

Team building at Karapiro

On Tuesday we went to Karapiro and did some team building challenges as a team. We did these challenges so we could learn how to work together as a team. The kayaking was the hardest because we got to learn how to kayak and play some fun games. Archery was a fun activity because when I would try to aim at the target and than when I let the arrow go it would always miss the target. The adult that helped me was Raywin because she helped me at archery and how to aim properly. I learnt how to work as a team. The challenges that my group faced were trying not slow down and to carry on with the challenge that we were facing.

End of year reflection

My favourite thing from this year is when we made our habitat boxes. The most challenging thing this year was when we did our name art. Now I tell you that was really challenging for me. My goal for 2016 is to not get distracted during subjects and get my work done so I do not have to stay in at lunch time to finish it.

Dream job competition

You had to draw a picture about your dream job or you could write about your dream job, competition on the whole page. My dream job would be a zookeeper and I would also like to be a boss too.

Athletics

My favourite sport is long jump because you can get your first score and try and beat it the next time you run/jump. My goal for athletics is to have lots of energy before my next sport and to drink lots and lots of water so I have a lot of energy.

Swimming Pool

A few weeks ago we were talking about if the pool should stay or be demolished. I think the school should be kept. So Vardon School can learn how to swim and the safe ways to save your selves. When you are starting to drown in the ocean or the sea then you know how to save your selves. So that is why I think the Vardon School pool should stay.

Habitat boxes

We had to choose out of the big five in Africa for our home learning for one week they were Lion, Elephant, buffalo,Leopard, and the white Rhino. The hardest part to do was trying to make an antelope or a Zebra for my African lions pray. The part that I was most proud of was the antelope because the antelope was peeking behind the grass.

Production 2015

I was in the Chinese group I was doing the umbrella dance also I was under the dragon as well. The bit that I enjoyed the most was performing in front of all the audience because it was to let them see the  finishing results. I would ask Mrs Head and Whea Nikki to add more to the umbrella dance. I really liked the Samoan group.

Friendship boxes

Friendship boxes are made out of  colour card we cut on and tabs to glue or fold and we stick them altogether . They are used for Room14's classmates have to do their draft of their notes in their writing books and then they have to show Mrs Gunn and when Mrs Gunn says yes then you go and get a special bit of paper and write your friendship note on that special bit of paper and then you put in their friendship box and then you do your initial's on the check list and then you are done your friendship note. We made them because we are learning to make friends and how to keep them. The trickiest part was putting it together.

Seven Sharp interview last Wednesday

Last week on Wednesday Doug Wilson Bill, Erin, Dave and Mrs Wilson came to our class Room 14. Erin and Dave came with Sharpie (the camera) to video us!! onto Television.
The most exciting part of the day was when we got videoed to be on TV. The interesting part of the day was when we got to see Room 14's  book getting published by Bill Doug Wilson's editor.
I learnt that Bill was the publisher of Doug Wilson.
I enjoyed reading the brand new book about Room 14's kids from last year because I never knew that they were going to be in a book until this year.
I will most remember meeting Dough Wilson, Erin, Dave and Mrs Wilson.

Seven sharp interview

On  Wednesday Seven sharp will be interviewing Rm 14 because  the year 6 's from last year met Dough Wilson. Then when he came he made a story called '' Don't mess with these kids '' was created by Dough Wilson. The author who wrote Rm 14's book was by Dough Wilson and the other books made by Dough Wilson are called Snake heaven The Whale Killers The rats of Droolmoan cave and The giant razor clawed Graioptrix of ice mountain. The title of Rm 14's book is called Don't mess with these kids.

I am looking forward to meeting Dough Wilson and being filmed to be on TV because I have never been on televison before and I have never met Dough Wilson before.

Room 14's filed of remembrance

We have been learning about the remembrance of the people who have died in the world war. We made some crosses to represent the people that died in the war. We got a long cross and a short one to make our crosses. Then we got a poppy to stick on to the top of the big long stick. when we where done we made our field of remembrance by the flag pole.

Tabloids sports

My favourite event was the parachute because I liked  it when we got  to go under. Then after that we go to  play this game when we go to put balls onto the parachute and bounce the balls up and down to the other side. I like the parachute because we got to play 2 sorts of fun games. I love tabloids day!!!
