Once in a far away island there lived a train
called Thomas the tank engine and one day Thomas had 100 people on his train.
Then he had to stop because his engine broke down and all the people said what
happened here? Then Thomas said to everyone “my engine broke down and now we are
stuck in the middle of town.” Then a boy hopped off the train and spoke to
Thomas. He said “I can fix your train.” The boy fixed it straight away and
Thomas said thank you. When Thomas looked at himself he said wow “how did you
do that in just four minutes.”

Evidence of achieving my maths goals
My maths goals are to get faster at answering my basic facts.
These pictures show that I am getting faster at answering my basic facts and I am achieving my goal. My score has dropped a little bit but I got a harder test. My first four tests asked addition and subtraction questions but my next test asked addition, subtraction, multiplication and division questions.
To show my working and be able to explain how I work out a problem.
My last maths goal is to use my doubles and tidy tens to add and subtract. I have achieved this goal and am now using my doubles to help work out my times tables. I double my two times tables to work out my four times tables 2x4=8 so 4x4=16 so 8x4=32 so this is how I worked it out you need to double 16 so 16+16=32.

This is still one of my goals because I got the same score in my STAR test. I got 6/10 I want to try and get a better score next time.

I am starting to share a few more of my ideas but I need to think carefully about what I am reading so that I can answer more.

I am still working hard on this goal to try and answer questions about the story I have just read. Sometimes I need to slow down because I can read really quickly but I have to listen to what I am reading so that I can answer the questions.
My last reading goal is to match the picture to the word.
This shows that I got 10/10 and doubled my score from the beginning of the year, so I am reading carefully to check the picture and the word.

My handwriting is getting tidier at handwriting time. Now my goal is to make it tidy at writing time as well.
To add more describing words to my writing.
I am still working on adding more adjectives to my writing I am going to try and add them in when I am proof reading to make my writing more interesting to read.
To use capital letters and full stops.
This is still my learning goal because I did not find any capital letters I only found a couple of full stops in my whole writing book. From now on I am going to go back and proof read after every sentence I write to help me remember to use my full stops and capital letters.
Start using question marks, exclamation marks and speech marks in my writing.
I need to start using question marks and exclamation marks and speech marks in my writing book. I haven't achieved my goal because when I look back in my reading book I can not find any work that shows using speech marks and question marks and speech marks and exclamation marks. I can proof read my work and add them in when I proof read.
My last writing goal is to start using language features like similes in my writing.
I am starting to use similes in my writing. Here is an example where I have compared my heart to a roaring train using the word 'like.' And running 'as' fast as a lightening bolt.
